This was my second time going to Oedo Onsen Monogatari but the first time I actually got to go inside!!
Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to spend there but if you had the time, you could easily spend a half a day relaxing there. I can imagine families with kids being able to spend an entire day there too!
When you arrive, you have to take your shoes off and put them into these little cubby boxes by the side of the room with key/lock provided. Then you go and sign up at the front desk. You don’t pay upfront but instead you’ll get this wristband which you’ll use to pay for things when you’re inside the onsen attraction.
After you’ve signed in and received your wristbands. You get to choose from a few types of yukatas to change into.
As you can see, when I went, Oedo Onsen was a Gintama theme! For those of you who are familiar with the anime, you can see how fitting it is as the entire Onsen attraction is Edo themed.
Even the crepe stand had Gintama themed foods :3
Besides food stands, there’s also these game stands. The yoyo tsuri stand reminded me of the days when I started a yoyo tsuri stall with my friend in the summer night market here. ^^;
Here’s the foot bath area. The bottom of a majority of the foot baths is made with… pebbles? Stones? It’s a bumpy surface so when you walk across it, it’s like one of those painful foot massages that’s supposed to be good for you. For a small price, you can also go into the foot bath with the doctor fish. The doctor fish will eat away the dead skin on your feet so when you come out, your feet gets super smooth. I tried it and it was an interesting experience. It’s really quite ticklish though so my mom and I had many laughs there. XD
