I’ve been wanting to try the high tea at Soirette for a long time. Ever since I heard great things about their macarons and that they only offered high tea on the weekends. I finally got the chance to go back in March.
Soirette is a tiny place downtown so it is recommended to make reservations for their weekend high teas. The interior is bright and the decor is cute.
We arrived there a little early but was quickly sat down at our table. The high tea is a set menu so unless you have any dietary restrictions, you’ll only get to pick the flavor of your macaron.
There’s so many colorful and adorable macarons to choose from. It took me a long time to finally settle on one.
After everyone had picked their macaron flavor and tea, the food promptly arrived and the server did their spiel on what was on the tiers.
To be honest, I was disappointed with the high tea.
Maybe my expectations going in were too high, but the food was really nothing special. I’m not saying it tasted bad, but at $36 per person, I was expecting a bit more. There wasn’t really anything that I really liked in the savories. Only the sweets tier was good. And of course, the macarons were superb!
So maybe its good that they only do high teas on the weekends and aren’t solely relying on that.
I would definitely come back. But just for the cakes and macarons (I actually walked out with two boxes of them that day).
In my opinion, the high tea at Soirette is just not worth it. 🙁
