In November, I took the leap and ordered a blank DDH-06 head and then a second hand DDDy body from a local doll group member.
I didn’t like the dynamite bust so I later on modded a DDII shapely L-bust for the body.
It was my first time painting a DD, but it didn’t turn out too bad for a first try. Will definitely re-do in the future when I have more time.
Making a DD turned out to be much cheaper than making a resin doll and I was quite happy with how she turned out.
Meet Ran!
Painting DDs are much different than painting bjds, and this new style was very fun.
So I added DDs to my commission list and opened up a commission thread on dollfiedreams forum as well. You can visit my commission thread here. More information regarding my commissions can also be found here.
First two DD commissions I got were both for the 06 heads! XD
Here’s how the first draft of the face up looks like.
The first draft is generally fairly messy and light. It’s just to get a feel and the base of the face up out to see if this is what the customer wants.
And then after a few layers and cleaning of the lines, the finished result!
The second DDH-06 commission asked for a more simplistic face up with minimal lash lines.
The DDH-06 is indeed a very cute mold. Love the little smile she has. :3
More face up samples can be found on my Flickr set.
Thanks for looking! ^^
