It’s been a while! And what better time to blog than when I should be cramming for my tomorrow’s final. 😀
Back in early-mid-March, I attended my first meet with the local Lolitas. I was very excited and it was kind of my first time wearing lolita out. Unfortunately in all my excitement, I didn’t take any outfit shots. Oops!
It was my first time at Patisserie Fur Elise.
We were a pretty big group so we took over the entire of one part of their upstairs salon where the high teas are held.
The decor was lovely and our server was very nice and attentive.
They tried to match everyone with a matching-ish teacup and they were pretty delighted seeing us all in our lolita gear and asked for quite a few photos of our group. :3
I was nervous attending the meet by myself for the first time, so Sir Durr came along for the ride. Since he didn’t have any fancy dresses, he brought his new SQlab Yo, Setsuna, in a fancy dress instead. XP
We started off with this as an amuse bouche. My memory is foggy, but it was kind of a creme brulee/panna cotta type of thing.
To be honest, I was kind of disappointed by the food.
It was good, but nothing to really write home about. If I were to go again, it would just be for the decor/atmosphere (their washroom is amazing!) and not for the food. The price is much less than Urban Tea Merchant (which is my absolute favorite so far), so I guess you get what you paid for?
Portion-wise, it is definitely filling enough for girls. Not too sure about for guys though.
The selection of tea was decent. Unless you are a huge tea-fanatic, you won’t be disappointed. LOL
The prosciutto and brie cheese croissant was my favorite in the savories but the croissant seemed kind of over baked? It was really dry and hard.
The mushroom veggie puff was pretty good too. The cucumber sandwich was good but nothing special. The chicken salad cone was yummy as well, but the Urban Tea Merchant’s chicken salad cone was much better (Can you tell that I am biased by now? Heh ;D).
Scones are my absolute favorite part of high teas. They had two kinds of scones, the scone I had was very hard and dry. I think I heard the other one was better.
I was kind of disappointed by the jam and butter though. Guess I got spoiled by Urban Tea Merchant’s scones and tea-infused jellies (again… with the biases)?
The sweets were decent. They were pretty much all the same creamy texture and the taste didn’t vary much either. They were quite sweet, but still good.
Overall I had a lovely time at my first meet and I’m looking forward to attending more in the future for sure!
I got a new wig and some chocomint hair accessories. Still waiting for a few more lolita packages on their way to me. 😀
Sir Durr and I headed to take some purikura afterwards.
I was so self-conscious going into a mall with just him and none of my fellow lolitas, so I took off my wig. LOL
Now I really got to go cram for that exam.
Finals will be over in five days and then I’ll have some more time to catch up on my backlog of things to write about!! 😀
